TLC is a 3 star Hospice situated in the Greater Kokstad Municipality.  A Hospice offers home based palliative care to patients with a life limiting illness.  Hospice provides care and support to people in the last days of their lives, making sure that their remaining days are meaningful and comfortable.

 

Our services are co-ordinated by two Professional Nurses and supported by a group of trained care workers.  We are currently visiting almost 400 patients per month.  The home care service also provides specialised equipment such as wheelchairs and hospital beds for use in a patient’s home.  

 

How does one access the services of TLC?

Patients are normally referred to TLC by their doctor; a hospital or clinic or other networking partners.  Patients can also access the service voluntarily by contacting our office.

 

Who can access the service?

We offer our services to patients who have a life-limiting illness, including but not limited to:  Cancer, HIV/Aids, TB, diabetes, old age and other advanced life threatening illnesses.  We also assist children with life limiting illnesses.

 

What if we cannot assist you?

If the patient does not meet the admission criteria, TLC will refer them to the most appropriate networking partner:  Department of Social Development, EG Usher Memorial, Municipal Clinic, Khanyeselani Clinic.

 

What do TLC services cost?

TLC Home Services Hospice does not charge patients or their families.
